Thank u Tracy, for giving me that much needed trip down memory lane, in CD form. ^_^ i love it! its been a quite busy week, so i haven't been writing......not a whole lot going on. Last SUNDAY, i went over to Angela's after work. i ended up cooking :) pork chops, rice, cornbread, and Angela cooked some bangin' gravy. :q YUM! it was tite! Mel, Orv, Toccara, and Josh were all there as well. afterwards, we watched the SHAFT vid and The Last Dragon (only the best movie EVER). So Sunday was pretty good. MONDAY, there was a test in Diff eq, and i didn't do as well as i should have........its okay, i'll do fine on the final. TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY were run-in-the-mill days, nothing really notable.......except Tracy coming over to give me the 80s CDs!! ^____________^
TODAY, Religion class, work, then i saw Triple X at school. Vin Diesel is hard core. 'nuff said. after the movie, Josh, Toccara, and I went to Jen Gordon's apt. There, we had fun with the 80s cds and then played CVS pro on the playstation. Lotsa laughs!

Well, i am still staying positive. Classes are starting to come together, thanx to alot of studying and homework! Oh yeah, and actually going to class. ^_^ DAMN, Michael Jackson is still tight, after all these years. Believe me, his latest CD is the hotness. Just give it a listen. Alot of these songs should have got more airplay..... Anywayz, this day was pretty interesting. Went to school, played a bit of DDR, studied, went to class, saw the religious fundamentalists in the quad spreading their "gospel".....OH MY GOODNESS, one of those crazies told a couple of Indian girls walking in front of me that Allah was a demon from hell, and that all muslims are going to hell. I couldn't believe it. I yelled out that "JESUS LOVED EVERYBODY", then waited for class to start outside of Brighton hall. About a minute later, my friend Josh P. comes by and i tell him about the Allah comment. Now, Josh is a very politically opinionated and educated individual, and once he heard that, he marched right over to the guy and starts to yell in his face!! DID YOU SAY THAT ALLAH IS A DEMON FROM HELL?! YOU SHOULD STUDY THE LIFE OF JESUS AND STOP SPREADING ALL THIS HATE SHIT!!! Needless to say, it was absolutely hilarious. After Josh was done, most people in the quad began to applaud....i swear it was out of a movie.
After class, I went to the union to study some more. Then, i chilled in the arcade for a little while, just milling around. I was supposed to appear at a forum that nite about Black fraternal/sorority organizations on campus to represent G Phi G, so i did a little research online to make sure i am confident in my presentation. I hate to use words that i don't know the exact meaning of, especially when i know that people will question and scrutinize what u say. So www.webster.com came in handy. I also sailed by Fiona's photo gallery of the tourney, that can be found here. Really funny pix!!
The meeting was really unorganized, but interesting......most of it consisted of arguements about "why doesn't any one come to my organization's events" and the Groove vs. Greek issue. My Groove brotha Leon was there, and the way he was presenting the issue.....lets just say if i wasn't there, he mighta got jumped! ^_^ I had to explain to him how this WASN'T the east coast, and peeps in cali take things really.....different. What it came down to was that some permanent physical location should be established as a hub of Black information. Hopefully somethin can be done in the multicultural center.
The remainder of the nite was spent at Melissa and Toccara's apt., where i played a bit of Street Fighter III and fixed Tocarra's glasses. So, all in all, a pretty productive day. Back to work!!

Wow. This past weekend was an absolute blast. The reacap:

FRIDAY, i worked on my routine all nite long....things came together as i began to change my life outlook. It's all positive! i have been really down in the mental dumps lately, and i really needed to change my mindset. The memorization/creation process was alot easier when i took the pressure off myself and just decided to have fun with it!

SATURDAY, i went to work. Thank you so much Angela for the ride!! ^_^ All product study, nothing interesting.....Sharper Image has alot of cool stuff though. It shouldn't be hard to sell at all. I ended up getting off work at 3, and shortly thereafter Ray, Mil, Liang, and Shawn showed up to go to S.H.A.F.T. Mil and Ray were stressin' about their routine, and Liang was kinda stressed about his parents......I tried to bring some enthusiasm and positivity to the car! ~_^ I was too excited to see anyone down. Anyway, after a bout with crazy traffic, we got to Scandia and mingled/registered/practiced before freestyle started. Wow.....so many faces that i haven't seen in so long!!! I was so juiced before the tourney! I haven't had that much fun in so long......in addition, i had the pleasure of really getting to know Fiona! I was able to bring a bit of sunshine to her day when i got there....she was really down. I swear, she's one of the only females i know that is as crazy and carefree as me.

Well, when the tourney was said and done, i ended up winning singles freestyle!!!! \ ^0^ / My first tourney win!! YES!! Lotsa fun, lotsa love, good times. My homegurl Angela even came to the tourney!! Even though she missed my freestyle (curse Best Buy!) it was great to see her there to support me. I hope she had fun......After the tourney was a trip to Aldabertos [sp?] for food....it was REALLY good! While there, Ajay showed off some of the breaking vids he got off the net....outstanding. I gotta practice. The nite ended crashing at Ray's house, being lulled to sleep by the tunes of IIDX......

SUNDAY, i had to work as well. I woke up HELLA early, just in case, and also to iron my clothes and make preparations and such. Everyone was sleep until Issac took a picture! 0.0 everyone woke up when the flash went off! ahahahaha! anywayz, the morning was spent playing a bit of MAX for PS2, then heading to work. More product study, non stop action.......i got off early (4pm instead of 5) so i called up Ray......the gang was at RVGL, so i just walked home and waited for them to return. We went to Ray's house, chilled a while (hella Tekken matches!!) and then a few goodbyes to the people that had to leave. Those that were left (Ray, me, Mil, Issac, Brad, Shawn) went to DJ Karaoke to sing various korean, japanese, and american songs! Needless to say, me and Brad had to attempt every Gackt song in the book. There were very entertaining performances from Mil and Issac as well! Good times. After 2 hours there, i had Ray take me home. I ended talking to Fiona the rest of the nite......

MONDAY, back to life. I am REALLY in the hole as far as school is concerned, so i am getting my life together before my grades really fall apart. You know, i never used to be like this. BJ Wooden was always on top of things. Never had a problem with school. Had all kinds of motivation. What the hell.....sometimes it just seems too hard. But i have been doing this student thing for 5 years now......Can i really give up? Can i really dissappoint my family? Do i even know what i really want? Shit. Stay positive, BJ. Stay positive.

As you can see from my last entry, i needed some encouragement. So, i called up my mom, talked to her for a couple of hours, and i feel A LOT better. Moms are very good at the whole "makeyafeelbetta" thing. She really helps me put things in perspective. So, here i am. I'm me. And that's fine.

I'm so anxious because of the big tourney tomorrow. My "Spin the Disc" routine is almost done, but i would like to be more confident. I don't wanna mess up. I just gotta keep thinking positive!!!! It will have to be done and polished by tonite, because i will have NO time to practice tomorrow. I am working 10.30am - 3.00pm, and then from there directly to the tourney......i have the jitters already.

Now, how to explain to my professors my "leave of absence".......

Hello peeps out there.

Damn, its been a while! i guess i should bring things up to date..........This week, i have been avoiding class. Why? because lately, i have been fed up with the whole concept. I hate it. I go to class, and either a) i don't know what's going on and need to read/do homework or b) i know what's going on and am bored because i already did the reading/homework. So, my academic success has come down to whether or not i have done the proper reading/homework. If there was only a way to just get my diploma by doing a load of homework and taking a test. So, I have stayed at home and studied this week. School just pisses me off. I swear, if so much wasn't dependent on having a college diploma, i would have left the country YEARS ago.
While on things that really push my buttons, let's talk about the U.S. government. I.......i just can't agree with the leadership of this country. The United States "EMPIRE" will now add to its list of atrocities the bullying of Iraq for its oil. "but saddam is harboring weapons of mass destruction!" Bullshit. Not only is there no proof, but Israel has more than TWICE the U.N. violations of Iraq. This "war" is about the U.S. being in SERIOUS debt. Soon, we won't even have enough COLLATERAL to offset the ridiculous spending (the U.S. has already used National lands to offset the debt). Meanwhile, homelessness, umemployment, and poverty are at record highs; the rich are getting richer; and schools are in ruin. Thank you, capitalism. God bless America? May God SAVE it. In good news, i started work at Sharper Image today. Nothing exciting, just filling out paperwork and watching orientation videos. The people there are really coo. That place has HELLA products! It will be a while before my product knowledge is up to speed, but it'll be coo. An anti-capitalist that works retail. Go figure. Its a job, anywayz....

The reason why im so frustrated is that i am 22 years old (soon to be 23) and i feel like i should be doing a lot more with my life. Millions of people are out there, in need of help and leadership. An entire world is out there for me to explore. There are so many things i haven't experienced, and so many people i haven't met. WHY MUST I WASTE MY TIME REGERGITATING FACTS FOR A LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER THAT SAYZ IM SMART??!! If this is life, i hope it gets a lot better really quick. I wonder what the greatest leaders of the world were doing at 22. Martin Luther King was 26 when he was leading a nation to freedom. Bobby Seale (co-founder of the Black Panter Party) founded the Black panthers at 30 years old. Nikola Tesla was 27 when he got things rolling.....What world changing event might i be apart of in 5 years?
I saw something interesting in the Sharper Image vids.......this guy in the video sayz the key to RESULTS is Attitude, Skill, and Commitment. Might not be a bad way for one to structure one's life. I have the skill and commitment, but MAN have i lost the attitude. Lord help me.

Ever have one of those dayz when it feels like you should be doing something important, but you just can't think of what? Yeah, that was today for me. I kinda wandered around Sac today, looking for some grand purpose/mission/adventure to find me. Alas, none did. I went from Sac State to downtown and back, and found nothing interesting. How i wish i lived in San Francisco. At least i would SEE something interesting downtown. Even the people in Sac are boring to watch. *sigh* The official highlight of the day was playing the Metroid Prime Demo! That game is SOOOOO GOOD. you can even turn into a ball and drop bombs, just like old school metroid! I might just have to keep my Gamecube after all. And don't let Zelda be any good! WAHOO!! Its coming out early febuary - right around my birthday. (HINT: My birthday is Feb. 5.)

Anywayz, after getting back home, i ate some lemon chicken from safeway (it was pretty good!!) :P and then proceded to play Gran Turismo 3 on my roomie's PS2. I started my own file. Guess what car i got? That's right! The TOYOTA AE86 BABY!!!!! Now i can be like homeboy in Initial D! heh heh....i would have got the Nissan Skyline GT-R, but the car is freakin expensive! So, after being whipped down in the second set of races and still unable to get my B license, i called it quits for the nite. I'll come back to it later.

What a day.......Lab was due today, and i got about half of it done. I will have to talk to the professor later. DAMN MONTE CARLO INTEGRATION!! Oh well. The part of the day NOT spent trying to get physics lab done was spent in the library coming up with a semester project and playing Alpha 3 in the arcade. How productive. -_-

Alphateam meeting was today, but not much went on. We basically watched stuff on my laptop and told various dirty jokes. and ate Jonas' candy. :P heh heh! After that, i got a ride home with Dave, chilled for a little bit, then went out with my roomie Paul to Marshall's and 7-11. At Marshall's, i got a black polo (for work at Sharper Image) and Paul spent 50 bucks on underwear and socks. ^_^ I was pretty amazed. Its funny how we americans get all excited about spending money on entertainment, but get all bent out of shape when we have to spend money on clothes and food! Underwear is a great investment. Well done Paul!

I think the rest of the nite will be spent relaxing, perhaps studying a bit of Japanese, perhaps playing a bit of Grandia 2, perhaps just going to sleep. i dunno.
